Geirangerfjord tour reviews

I’ve reviewed each of the five boat tours this site compares — the same boats I watch leave the pier every day in season. Ratings and review counts come straight from the GetYourGuide listings, and where a tour gets criticised, I say so. The RIB safari is the best-rated way onto the water; the classic sightseeing cruise is the most booked and the most complained about. Both facts are below.
The five reviews

Geiranger: Fjord & Waterfalls Sightseeing Cruise
The default cruise. Fine on the 2-hour hybrid boat, crowded on the 75-minute one.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the ratings come from?
From the tours’ GetYourGuide listings — the score and the review count on each page here match what the listing showed when I last updated it. I don’t average, round up or leave out the bad ones; the flagship cruise review leads with its weakest point.
Are these reviews independent?
I’m a guide in Geiranger, not a tour operator, and I don’t sell tickets. The site earns a commission when you book through its links, at no extra cost to you — the affiliate disclosure spells it out. The ratings above are GetYourGuide’s, not mine to adjust.
Which tour scores highest?
The RIB safari, at 4.8 from over 1,300 reviews. The private day trip also shows 4.8, but from just 8 reviews — a much thinner base, which its review discusses. If you want a calm deck rather than a fast boat, the Ålesund round trip at 4.7 is the strongest of the bigger vessels.
